VENTURA COVE MASTERS

In affiliation with One with the Ocean, Tri Club San Diego, and US Masters Swimming

Every Monday at 7:00 AM in Ventura Cove (Mission Bay, San Diego), open-water swimmers of all levels gather for a unique US Masters Swimming–style workout led by volunteer coaches Sidney and Stephen. We believe the joy of ocean swimming should be accessible to everyone, newcomers and seasoned marathon swimmers alike. This is an inclusive, safety-first sessions with scalable pacing and skills for all levels.​

When & Where

Time: Mondays, 7:00–8:00 AM (arrive 10 minutes early)
Location: Ventura Cove, Mission Bay, San Diego
Format: Group briefing, buoy-based sets, sighting & skills

​Membership & Support

This community swim is free, run by volunteers, and supported by memberships from our athletes.

Who It’s For

  • First-time ocean swimmers

  • Triathletes sharpening skills before race day

  • Experienced open-water swimmers

What to Bring

  • Bright swim cap, goggles, and tow float optional

  • Wetsuit optional (water-temp dependent)

  • Warm layers for after the swim

​

Safety

  • Workout may be adjusted or canceled for safety.

  • Swim within your limits and communicate with your coaches.

  • Waiver required by our affiliated organizations.
