APPROACH
Athletes are met where they are, without pressure to fit a predetermined outcome. Training begins with an honest understanding of the athlete’s current skills, experience, and relationship with the water.
Athletes are active partners in their own journey. Progress comes through collaboration, curiosity, and communication. Asking questions, sharing uncertainty, and expressing how swims feel are essential parts of the process. Meaningful improvement happens when athletes are engaged and aware, not just following instructions. Patience is central to the work. Sustainable, long-term progress takes time, and rushing the process often leads to frustration or injury.
Above all, the focus is on the process and the experience. Open water swimming is meant to be challenging, but also enjoyable and deeply rewarding. By learning to stay present and engaged, athletes build not only skill and endurance, but a lasting appreciation for the journey itself.
